The Barefoot Beekeeper

Osceola, Wisconsin

Nestled in the woods of rural Osceola, Wisconsin is a small apiary and raspberry farm where delicious honey and berry products are created for your family from ours. Find our jams, honey and syrup at the market at 45th Parallel in New Richmond, WI from 4-8pm on Wednesdays (only) all through November and December.

Why the name?

The Barefoot name comes from Lisa's beginning days keeping bees, when she used to enjoy tending the hives in bare feet.  Hey, those bee suits are really hot and summer here can be so humid.  So she wore shorts and went with bare feet, but soon discovered that that tickle of bees crawling between your toes made it hard to concentrate and not drop something around thousands of little stinging friends.  So, she wears sandals now, but still no socks!

The homestead is maintained by a retired veteran and his crazy wife Lisa, who tends to the spicy sky raisins (aka honeybees).
